The JCIP-Puerto Princesa Peacock actively participated last June 23, 2007 in the Pista Y Ang Kageban, an annual tree planting tribute to Mother Earth and the forests implemented by the City Government of Puerto Princesa.
The members of the local organization management were among the 20,000 residents of Puerto Princesa who trooped to Sitio Impapay, Barangay Irawan on the morning of the said day.
JCI Mem. Emilyn R. Bayna, the president of the LOM, said joining the Pista is an important "ecological responsibility" that each member should continue supporting.
"We have a responsibility to Mother Nature, and that is to help it restore its splendor that has been wasted through the years because of illegal logging. We can’t live without the forest, and the forest can’t survive without us," she stated. More than 100,000 saplings were planted at the Pista.
Every year, and every opportunity they get, the members of the JCIP-Puerto Princesa Peacock plant trees mostly in Irawan where the City’s watershed is located.
