A New President for the JCIP-Puerto Princesa Peacock
Friday, November 4th, 2005JCI Mem. Malou Paglinawan (1st from right) of Palawan Broadcasting Corporation is the new LOM Chapter President of the JCIP-Puerto Princesa Peacock which is affiliated with the Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCIP).
JCI Mem. Malou replaced JCI Mem. Teng Formoso whose term ended successfully with major awards from the Southern Luzon Area Conference of Area III held in Mauban, Quezon in September. The awards included the LOM Chapter of the Year Award for Category III.
The new executive vice-president is JCI Mem. Imelda Publico who is VP for Internal last year.
The new LOM officers under JCI Mem. Malou’s leadership are committed to continue the tradition of being Puerto Princesa’s leading organization of young female professionals actively involve in community leadership and entrepreneurship.
Just recently, the LOM Chapter was involved in a campaign against breast cancer, and its members distributed brochures with information about the illness that women should know. Pink pins were also distributed to remember October as breast cancer awareness month.
The breast cancer awareness project was the first to be done under JCI Mem. Malou’s term. Next to this, the members of the JCIP-Puerto Princesa Peacock are busy preparing for Parti Sa Calle — a fundraising street party which is now on its fifth year.
